Yes this is the original old stick Hosoi decks that came out sometime between his Alva and skill skates models I believe. This one is in especially good condition, only a few paint scuffs off of the yellow Lester hydrant deck it was stored with. This skateboard is truly a rare find and an important piece of skateboarding history. This board without a doubt is an icon and deserves a place of honor in a skateboarding museum. The board is an original from SANTA MONICA AIRLINES dated 1978 along with the artist signature J. The board is a JACK WATERMAN model. The board was handmade by SKIP ENGBLOM in the back of JEFF HOs ZEPHYR SURF SHOP. They were the originators of ZEPHYR SKATEBOARD TEAM and instrumental in SANTA BARBARA CREW, SKATE CROSS RIDERS and OXNARD. This board is a genuine piece of DOGTOWN and Z BOYS history during the late 1970s. The trucks are INDEPENDENT TRUCK CO. They started making trucks in 1978 and that is when the board was constructed, I BELIEVE THEY ARE THE FIRST THAT WERE MANUFACTURED. The wheels are G&S YO YO they are over 2 in wide and 2 3/4 in high. I believe these to be the originals also since nothing has been altered or changed on this board. The board measures 31 1/2 in long and 11 in at it widest point. The board shows deck wear which I SHOWED THE WORST IN ALL MY PHOTOS but it is structurally sound and the so called wear is the history, battle scars, that the emptied swimming pools of stars like LUCILLE BALL and BARRY WHITE, etc, left behind not to mention OXNARD and just the streets of SANTA MONICA and VENICE CA. During the late 1970s. He said the skateboard and some other things came from a family who moved here from California. The board has been stashed away all these years and never tampered with in any way. This board is 100% original and right! You will be pleased!!! This is far from a skateboard , it is a piece of history. It is amazing to comprehend that a handful of so called troubled kids in the late 1970s would start something that would evolve into a future OLYMPIC EVENT! The item “RARE! MUSEUM BOUND!
