Thus board is new old stock with the original 1986 factory shrinkwrap! This is easily one of the most rare models to find still existent in new condition from the 1980s more specifically one of the hardest to find still in the original factory shrinkwrap. This is arguably the most popular variations with the silver dip that shines beautifully. What really makes this deck special is the original factory shrinkwrap. Very rarely do you ever see any in factory wrapped condition. This deck has a few minor imperfections but. You can see the 1980s factory pressed C on the bottom graphic, where top truck would be located. If you are a collector of the original 1980s help her out the skateboards in factory sealed condition, you can tell this is the real deal. Since it is in new condition I will point out any flaw I can find to mention… All of which can best be seen in pictures 9-11. On the tale of the skateboard there is a minor tear in the wrap located in the middle of the right side and on edge right above it. This is very small and not in danger of getting bigger. There is also a minor tear in factory plastic on the top side of tail and a few spots which I safely held together with a tiny tiny pieces of tape. I only did this to protect it during storage, it could be removed without danger of ripping it. The paint above the top right of ripper artwork has a few imperfections simply from sliding the deck in and out between other skateboards back when it was at skateboard shop in 1980s. Also a tiny amount to the left side of ripper graphic. There is a small amount to the top side of tail in the silver color. Both of these are hardly noticeable and definitely nothing that takes away from its beautiful design. You can see these in the pictures included. On the top side of deck the top left screw hole has factory where from the original spindle creates the holes for trucks. This would have occurred when it was originally manufactured in 1986. About the Ripper Artwork. Arguably the most iconic skateboard graphic of all time, The Ripper was illustrated in 1983 by legendary Powell-Peralta artist V. Next, the artwork found it’s way onto t-shirts and eventually decks. The Ripper graphic has stood the test of time and has been a staple of the Powell-Peralta line for over 30 years. Artwork by: Vernon Courtlandt Johnson. About the SILVER 1986 Ripper “Gee-Gaw”. In 1986 jump ramps were all the rage. Easy to build, portable and fun to launch off of. Unfortunately, decks were snapping left and right. One solution was Bonite construction. Another was the “Gee-Gaw” shape which had bumps to reinforce the break zone area.
