Up for grabs is a brand new old stock 1985 Powell Peralta Rodney Mullen chess freestyle skateboard deck. This is an original deck from 1985. It is not a reissue. This deck is still in the factory shrink wrap complete with rat nuts special deal card. The shrink wrap has a few tears on it and it is just starting to get a little brittle. I was going to remove shrink myself but decided against it. You never see these decks pop up still in the shrink wrap very often. This deck is an early first run of the graphic from 1985. It has the typical red bleed through the white skeleton giving it a pink appearence. Like this on the early decks. They later changed to a different white paint I believe to cure the issue that caused the bleed through. This deck is mint. I’ve looked it over quite well through the shrink and haven’t found any issues. There is not damage in any areas where the shrink is torn. No scuffs on the sides or the tail. Has one pencil tip sized scuff on the nose but you can’t see it without gazing at it for awhile. I’m trying to be a bit anal on the condition of this deck. It ain’t cheap. Deck has not warp at all. It is as straight as the day it was made. This deck has no stamps other than the serial number which I think looks to be 836. This deck is a first choice…. The graphic is perfect! No delam of any sort. This deck is as close to new and minty as you can get for its age. I have had a lot of vintage mullen over the years but this is by far the most perfect one I have had. If you have been looking for a mint red mullen chess freestyle than this is it. I would personally remove the shrink eventually. I don’t believe it to increase the value too much on most decks but you don’t see hardly any mullens still in the shrink. It would be a perfect deck without the shrink for display.
