Vintage SIMS Lonnie Toft Skateboard Deck. Here is a Sims Lonnie Toft model skateboard deck form the 1970s. It is a 7 ply maple deck with a kicktail. This deck is in good solid condition considering its age. However, when I got this deck, it needed some TLC. The bottom deck was a little beat up. It was full of stickers, and much of the bottom deck logo was gone. There were also a couple of small chips on the bottom nose and two holes drilled in the tail for a skid plate/tail saver. The top deck had a four screw holes in the nose for a nose protector and a couple in the tail for a reason that was and still is unknown to me. The top deck was gripped, right over the top deck logo. The stickers were pretty hammered, so I removed them. I also removed the top deck grip. The logo was still there, but there were a few bits of it that came up with the grip. I repaired and/or filled all of the holes, dings, chips and fire damage. I then cleaned it up, sanded it, and rescreened on a new bottom deck logo. I finished it off with a coat of satin finish clear spray lacquer. The deck looks very nice now. The deck measures approximately 29.5 inches x 7.75 inches.
