This board was the introduction of their most well-known graphic, the Ripper! This 1984 pig shape skateboard is the red dip variation which is very possibly the most popular inside after color. Although this part is not perfect, it is in top-notch condition and I have honestly never seen a red dip Ripper in better shape than this. This board is in used condition but has been very well taken care of. The skateboard comes from a smoke free home and have always taken very good care of it. It has been safely stored. This board is 100% original and authentic. You can see his exact condition from the photos. This deck is truely a time piece of pop culture and really is a piece of art. The gold dragon graphic on the top side is my favorite part of this deck. Combining the Pig shape, red dip paint, grip tape with the classic metallic gold Dragon creates the most iconic and well known image of vintage Skateboarding! Any possible imperfections are overshadowed by its beautiful display. In my opinion, the condition of this board is really perfect, you can feel the soul in this used pop-art canvas. The deck still has its original grip tape. The paint displays beautifully and has a nice apple colored metallic shine when looking at under bright light. The graphics are in excellent overall condition with only a small amount of wear. The Ripper design really is beautiful with only a little bit of wear;it displays just like you would want it to. The top side of the deck has a small chip on tail but very minor. The only other imperfection worth mentioning is the circle above Rippers head. This board had this imperfection when I obtained it. It is not something you can clean off its almost as if the paint melted in the circle pattern. After having this board for so long I do not even notice, the Ripper skeleton graphic overshadows imperfection. The gold dragon on the top side is in amazing shape with hardly any Wear. Dragons gold color is bright and vibrant without any wear. The topside really shows how little this board was used. Included on the skateboard is a set of near mint Gorilla Rib, Rib Bones. Also included is the early variation of Powell Peraltas Tail Bone & Nose Bone. The nose guard is the early variation manufactured for pig shaped boards and is the Powell Wide size. Included on the board is there a set of new old stock blue G-Bones wheels. These wheels were manufactured in 1986 and have never been used, only put on display on this board. The deck contains a pair of black gullwing pro trucks. These are some of my favorite trucks, they look in display great especially on an early board like this. There is a few small spots that looks like the paint chipped off and from what I can tell it seems as if the original owner used a black marker on a few spots but is not something noticeable. It took me a few years to even notice! I hate to get rid of the skateboard because I know Im never going to get another Red Ripper in such condition again. As you probably know, in the last few years all pig shaped Powell Peralta decks have a come extremely scarce and hard to find. No matter what age, these Vintage Powell Peralta model skateboards with the iconic graphics will always be sought after. Not only do these images define a period in time, but these graphics are responsible for creating the support of skateboarding as we know it And Ill say that as a fact!! These iconic graphics of the Ripper, Skull & Sword, skull and snake and other models have continuously increased in value and demand while they become more scarce and hard to find every year!
