This is a very early 1986 McGill Skull Styled Powell Peralta Bottle-Nose Skateboard. It has Venture trucks and old school Slimeball 60m 92A wheels. Notice the top of the deck features the dragon logo and not the skull/wings logo. The dragon logo came before the skull with wings. This is an OG McGill board. Condition – I’m going to do my best to describe it. The board is in very good condition but it’s not perfect. The bottom graphics look sharp. No bubbling or peeling of any kind. To the left of the eyes on the main logo there is a smudge, which I tried to capture in the pictures. Just below the nose is a smudge. There are a couple of other smudges that appear to be grime or dirt, which I didn’t want to try to clean for risk of damaging the graphic. One smudge is located near the right rail, the others near the tail where the bend begins. There are a couple of other small smudges/scuffs. I would advise examining the photos on a mobile device so that you can zoom in real close to see the imperfections. If we were grading the bottom graphic on a scale of 1 to 10 – I’d give it a 9. The top of the board has some fading where the dragon logo is located. The dragon logo also has some wear on it. I think the pictures capture it well. Compared to other boards of the same type the dragon looks great. Not perfect, but as good as you can expect for a board from this time that was actually used. The rail plastics are vintage aftermarket, I believe. They are scuffed up and look to be used. The pictures did not capture the condition of the rails well. They just look used, but not beat up. The rear kick plate appears to be original, though I’m not sure of that. It is scratched up but is in good functional shape. It is missing two screws with only the center screw holding it into place. The nose plastic also appears to be original. It is missing 1 screw. The two outer screws are holding it into place. The center screw hole in the plastic nose guard, NOT the board, has a crack. You can see it clearly in the pictures. The wood – I believe these were made of multiple ply’s of maple. The wood is in great shape. On the front left and right, where the curve for the nose begins, the paint is worn. However, the wood has minimal wear. The paint along the edges of the kick is also worn, but the wood there is also in great shape, and maintains its original curvature. The paint on the nose is still present and there is a small amount of wear. Paint still covers the nose, and the wood is not exposed, but there is a small amount of wear on the nose paint. All in all the wood loss on the board is close to zero. It’s in great shape. Please examine the pictures closely. Please contact with any questions or if you’d like more or specific pictures. I’m trying to describe this to the best of my ability. I used to skate but it’s been more than 20 years. My knowledge of boards, terminology, and so forth is limited. Please inform me if I got anything wrong of if there is anything that I missed! This deck would make an excellent display piece. Thank You and Good Luck.
