Original 1980′s Sims Staab Mad Scientist Mini Complete Skateboard

I purchaed this about 25 years ago just as you see it, a well used complete skateboard. Below the STAAB on botom of deck it states 1986 Sims Skateboards Inc, although the Art of Skateboarding website lists this as a 1987 deck. This is an original 1980′s deck, not a re-issue. You can look at photos and come to your own decision about all matters regarding this skateboard as I make no warranties or representations regarding this item. The deck is well worn. Holes are drilled for what appears to possibly have been for rails and a guard. Nose and tail are well worn, there is a Schmitt Sticker on bottom as well as a silver piece of tape, and a piece of grip on bottom of nose. Grip tape is worn, peeling in places, but has the Mini Sims Staab logo on the middle piece of tape. Action Trucks, Variflex Wheels. One mounting screw/and nut look to have been replaced. Again this is a well worn skateboard with lots of nicks, scratches, and wear, but in my opinion has always shown well. This is a solid original example of this model I believe, however you look at photos and decide that. Board will be well packed. The deck is approximately 28.5 inches in length. Up for sale is a very rare original 1980s (not a reissue) Kryptonics High Energy Spider Skeleton skateboard. As you can see it’s in nice shape for the age, graphics held up well as it has side, nose, truck, and tail guards. Not much rub on kicktail or nose, normal use, showing age some. Tracker trucks, bushings deteriorated. Uncleaned, as found, just the way you see it in the pictures. Vintage Kevin Staab Skateboard (Sims, 1987, Pirate Rat Bones, Gullwing)

Vintage Kevin Staab Skateboard (Sims, 1987, Pirate graphic; with Powell Peralta 57 mm Rat Bones wheels and Gullwing trucks). Hence, the graphics are still super vibrant and clear. That neon on the face especially! The top is covered in clear grip tape with two stickers beneath. I had a tail guard at once time thats since been removed, and two screws from one of the side rails are missing. Also, as you can see in the pictures, Ive tried to document the small vertical cracks that can be found in each side of each set of trucks. I know that this can be common with boards of this age, but if you want any additional pictures to show different angles of whats there, please let me know. Heres the only thing I could find on this board. The post below was for the new wave 10.5 edition and this board is the 11.0. Either way an awesome rare piece. Below was a listing for the wave 10.5 NOT this skateboard. Experimental #4 NEW WAVE 10.5 skateboard from 1978. Flat no concave Custom-made deck, similar to the early SIMS LaMar, Andrecht, Ayres, Bowman But with smaller channels and larger rounded wheel wells. Deck was probably made in a wood shop, or perhaps was a prototype for a company that went under. There were several companies at the time trying to keep up with the skateboard movement.. Pipeline park in Upland CA, Blackhart wheels, T&C surf, original release Independent stickers, Superwide, Inouye Pool Service (IPS), Del Mar Stage 1 no-pinch trucks, 131s (superwide).
