This deck is the REAL DEAL, one of only a few still in existence. This genuine ORIGINAL 1978 Powell skateboard model ever made. It was this model George Powell + Stacy Peralta teamed up to create their first model. Alrhough Stacy was in the company at this point take up for myself I think you just got to set the bar and help develop the models size and shape, his name is had not yet been added to the company. Technically this model is before the Powell Peralt Britelite series, but many would categorize this as one. If anything the bright light series would have been made after manufacturing this model in neon colors. The First model was manufactured in 1978 in 1979. However, their were just a small handful manufactured in 1978. This first variation has the Powell logo starting from the bottom truck. The text sixe of logo is also slightly larger. The 2nd variation has the Powell logo starting from the top truck down. The first variation was manufactured in such small numbers there are only 4 to 5 examples of it in existence. There are many more examples of the second variation and in a variety of colors. This is one of only two models that has the Powell P on the top side of the deck with Powell stamped across. Unfortunately when I remove the grip tape, most of the ink went with it. Underneath the grip tape is this insanely soft wood with a beautiful yellow color. This skateboard is in excellent overall condition and really will be the highlight of your collection. There are no major imperfections, solid deck with graphics in great condition on bottom. This skateboard has a pair of Tracker Fulltracks. Each truck has a copper on top, one is white the other black. One of the trucks has a aluminum base while the other has a white plastic base. The trucks are in excellent overall conditions, the coppers have protected them well. The wheels on the skateboard are my favorite part. These Red Powell Peralta Bones Threes are almost in never used condition and really bring life to this board. Three out of four wheels have a near perfect white text on the side. There is only one or two spots on the wheels missing A few specs of white text. Another Beautiful addition to this skateboard is the Red 1970s Bones sticker located below the Powell logo. That sticker is 100% authentic and extremely rare. I personally placed that sticker on the board It was a very expensive sticker especially to actually use! Considering this board is 41 years old it is in beautiful shape! Please refer to the pictures for the exact condition and judge for yourself. The original owner had stickers on the bottom of the deck which he removed and caused a small amount of color shadowing. You can tell exactly where stickers were located and almost which ones. The stickers seemed to have preserved the wood a bit more showing a slight brighter color compared to the rest of the deck. This is the first model in the long run in, very successful company Powell Peralta. This is one of those vintage skateboards that I like to define as unobtainable, meaning no matter how much one is willing to spend, you simply will not find this model available anywhere on the Internet…. There are a few spots where original stickers were placed and then removed. Those stickers caused shadows preserving the wood underneath them and giving it a slightly different color. Keep in mind condition is in the eye of the beholder. Please refer to the photos for the exact condition. Included below is my personal opinion on condition. This deck is of course the infamous Mutt model skateboard, One of very few still in existence today. This 1981 Powell Peralta deck is one of the most scarcely made and highly sought after vintage skateboards out there. All the 1st series of signature decks Powell Peralta manufactured are EXTREMELY SCARCE to find in amazing condition! In all honesty, its safe to say you really cannot ask for much better condition when it comes to this piece of skateboard history! These ORIGINAL Powell Peralta Skateboards have always a SOLID investment and have continuously increase in value over the years. With this glory decade of skateboarding back in popular culture even with the young kids there is no doubt the value of these keyboards is here to stay and will only continue increasing in value. There is no losing with this one! Most collectors that I like you enough to own this model, tend to hold on & hoard them in collection. In all sincerity you could be searching for this one for years without ever getting the chance to grab one.
