Powell 72cm QUICKTAIL AND BONES Vintage Original Skateboard, still awesome! I bought this brand-new circa 1978 and skated homemade wooden ramps. It has sentimental value, but I’m over 60, so those days are past. It’s 7″ by 28″ in size. It has original deck tape and original BONES wheels. I bought it with Bennett trucks, but the rear one was replaced with a Tracker truck. You can see I attached a skid plate and some stickers of the time. It still rolls smooth as can be.

1977- The year that George Powell (pre-Peralta) started manufacturing these amazing maple and aluminum series of boards including this 72cm Quicktail. The feel of these boards was unique. This was a direct shot at G&S with their Fibreflex models. This board comes with period correct NOS Gullwing Phoenix split axles and a set of NOS non-period correct Sims Street Wheels (just for cosmetics). Note, this is not a reissue board! I DO NOT Want to split the board up, either. 6.75″ x 28.35″. 45 year old grip tape in place. The Dogtown crew was a major influence, and I was fortunate to see all of them in action throughout my teenage years. I have sought out skateboards for my collection that had the most impact on me. The provenance and authenticity of my collection is without question. All of these boards and decks have been on display or storage. No complete boards or decks have seen daylight since acquisition. Vintage 1977 Powell Quicktail 76cm Skateboard complete with Gullwing Split Axle trucks and OJ wheels. Very nice original Powell Quicktail. This deck has an actual kicktail and is not one of the unfinished flat Quicktails that sometimes shows up for sale. The deck also has the factory drilled holes to mount nose and tail guards – the holes were never used and are hidden by the factory grip tape when viewed from the top.
